FIRST Educational Resources provides an extensive approach to administrator searchers on behalf of schools and districts. The recruitment and selection of an educational leader is vital to the success of any school district or organization. In order to hire the best candidates, school boards need to hire the best firms with a proven record of success. Our team of consultants have a variety of educational experiences ranging from current superintendents and directors, to retired educators that have had extensive success in their educational careers.
Leadership starts at the top, which is why finding the right superintendent or administrator is a one of the most important roles that a school board does. At FIRST Educational Resources, we partner with school boards to find an administrator that has the skills and knowledge necessary to lead effectively, while having the right disposition to be a good fit for years to come.
We also understand that each district is unique. Our consultants ensure that each candidate is a good match using an extensive approach to administrator searches. Our process includes a comprehensive approach that examines the district needs, strategic focuses, and priorities from all stakeholders. We engage with the community to gain a full understanding of the complexities of each school district. This process has a proven track record of making sure each match is a great fit for the school board, community, and administrator.
Some of the best candidates out there are not necessarily looking for new opportunities. Through our nationwide recruitment process, FIRST Educational Resources will provide a highly qualified group of candidates that have been extensively recruited, screened and interviewed to ensure the the very best options are available to you and your district. When FIRST runs an administrator search, we are not just entering a contract with the district, we are entering a partnership and relationship. Through our ability to listen to the needs of the Board and Community, we know that FIRST will help you find the right person to fulfill your administrator needs. To discuss how FIRST Educational Resources can support you and your district in fulfilling an administrator search, please contact Garth Larson, President of FIRST Educational Resources at (920) 203-3784 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We use a five phase process to ensure our partner districts are matched to top-quality candidates that will meet the individual needs of the district and community.
Phase 1: Engage and Recruit
Our first step is to work closely with the school board and community to create a comprehensive profile documenting the district priorities and characteristics. We then build a robust marketing campaign to reach a wide pool of potential applicants. We use the district profile information to recruit candidates that are a great fit for the district.
Phase 2: Select the Candidate
We meticulous screen all candidates using a thorough set of background checks and references calls tailored to the education field. Only a few best-fit candidates from our pool of thousands of applicants are selected for interviews. We then work with school boards on planning and implementing an interviewing process using research-based practices.
Phase 3: Transition Services
After selection, we assist school boards on the communication plan for announcing the new administrator. We work with district staff on a step-by-step transition plan that creates a solid foundation for the selected administrator.
Phase 4: Entry Plan Execution
The entry plan for the new administrator may be the most important time to set the stage for strong start. We help set timelines, priorities, and action steps to keep the school district running smoothly and efficiently during the entry plan.
Phase 5: Executive Coaching
Our goal is to create a lasting relationship between the district and administrator. To improve longevity, we provide each new superintendent with executive coaching and legal support during the first year.
Our Promise to You
Our FIRST Satisfaction Guarantee promises that we will find a the right superintendent or administrator for you. If a school board is dissatisfied within two years from the date of employment of the superintendent or administrator, and if either party dissolves that relationship by resignation or termination within a two year period of the initial employment, we will conduct a new administrator search at no cost to the district, except for expenses.
Our Mentorship and Legal Support
Finding the right candidate is only the first step, but unlike other firms, we partner with school districts long after a candidate is hired. We have a comprehensive mentorship program that works with newly hired administrators to make sure that that transition is smooth and effective. We provide two half days of in-person support and monthly check-ins for all of our placed administrators. We can also provided more intensive executive coaching at an additional cost, if desired.
We also know that navigating the ever-changing legal requirements for schools is challenging. We give all placed administrators up to ten hours of free legal advice from our partnered lawyers for three consecutive months. We want to make sure that all of our partner school boards and administrators can confidently run their districts without legal issues or worrying about excessive legal costs.
