James Nottingham is the creator of the Learning Pit, author of 9 books, and employer of 30 staff in 6 countries. He has been a teacher and leader across the 3-19 age range, and is now one of the most sought-after keynote speakers and in-school consultants.

Following his most recent tour with Professor Carol Dweck, he is offering an in-depth exploration of the best ways to develop resilience, curiosity and deep learning through:

  • Understanding how, when and for whom growth mindset helps, as well as when it doesn’t
  • Identifying the best ways to boost student efficacy as well as staff collective efficacy
  • Determining how to adjust feedback processes so that the actual gains live up to those identified by research (between 50-83% gain in progress)
  • Exploring how the Learning Pit encourages students to step out of their comfort zone, willingly choose challenge, and to stick at their learning until they achieve a deep level of mastery
