Two Year Collective Efficacy Program

Teams from schools and/or school districts enroll in a two year program focused on fostering collective efficacy in schools. In joining this network, school improvement teams will learn about the power of collective efficacy in overcoming the challenges and obstacles faced in schools today. Participants will examine how educators’ beliefs affect thought patterns in ways that either support or hinder quality implementation. Participants will collaboratively work toward fostering greater efficacy in schools so that the promise of improvement-oriented interventions become realized in practice.

On-Site Coaching

Coaching for leaders and teachers is critical. When leaders and teachers work with a coach, they are able to refine their practices and try-out new learning. The impact that coaching has on any change is significant! The Learning FIRST Literacy Center Team includes trained coaches who are skilled at supporting teachers and leaders in setting short-term goals and designing coaching supports to assist in meeting those goals. We believe in coaching that is responsive to the needs of the school and educator

List of components that will be examined in Analysis:

  • Leadership Structures and Practices
  • Shared beliefs
  • Universal Academic Achievement
  • Achievement Equity
  • Team Structures
  • Instructional Practices
  • Professional Learning Model

Teams will examine enabling conditions within their context and embark on a plan to strengthen conditions that help to foster a sense of efficacy amongst teams. Participants will be introduced to different ways to determine collective teacher efficacy and be assisted in monitoring progress toward their goals. A key element of this program’s success is that it helps to build capacity through an inquiry-based model in which complex contextual factors (that often impede change) are effectively considered and addressed.

Pricing: $1,750.00 per person

Note: It’s recommended that schools or districts enroll teams in this two year program (5-7 people per team is suggested).

Optional additional services with Two Year Collective Efficacy Program:

On-site coaching (# visits per year to be determined by client for additional cost)
Accreditation (upon completion of the program and a on-site review, successful schools will earn the title ‘Mastery FIRST School’) – Includes a minimum of 2 on-site coaching per year.

EDUTAS at the University of Oklahoma, in collaboration with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, engaged Dr. Jenni Donohoo as our primary consultant for a group of 30 public school assistant and early career principals participating in our Moving UP initiative this school year. The Moving UP goal is to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies of school leaders to successfully lead and manage school improvement efforts (change) through collaborative leadership and collective efficacy structures. Jenni’s work is both challenging and engaging, giving participants the opportunity to learn and apply research-based practices in their own context to solve specific issues. Participants share issues and evidence of change during the face-to-face sessions with Jenni, with their executive coaches, and via an online community of practice. We’re very fortunate to have Jenni in Oklahoma and look forward to the practical, high-impact content and reflection she brings in year 2. Jenni is model collaborative leader who works diligently to build our collective efficacy.
