Carmen Bergmann has been devoting her days (and sometimes-sleepless nights) to education for more than 23 years. She is currently the Assistant Regional Superintendent of the Regional Office of Education 17 in Central Illinois. Prior to this position, she dedicated her work life to her home district, McLean County Unit 5 in Illinois. Her professional journey began in the classroom, where she was an elementary teacher for 11 years. A desire to expand her reach led her into leadership where she was an elementary principal for 9 years and the Director of Elementary Education for 3 years. Her passions include assessment and grading practices and anything related to the development of effective instructional practices.
She has a Master’s Degree in Administration, a Superintendent’s certificate, and is in the final stages of her EdD in Education Administration Foundations, all from Illinois State University.
