    Dennis McCarthy, EdD, is in his 12th year as Superintendent with the School District of Beloit Turner. He has previously served as the Turner High School Principal, as well as multiple roles in the School District of Beloit including Middle School Principal, Asst. Principal, Dean of Students, science teacher, and football and softball coach. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master’s in Teaching from Beloit College. He also earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from National Louis University and his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College.

    While at Beloit Turner, Dr. McCarthy has guided his district through multiple initiatives including 4K program implementation, site-based leadership teams, multiple referendum campaigns, unprecedented open enrollment growth, and is currently in the process of implementing programs for equity-based practices in all classrooms. He takes great pride in building strong relationships that have allowed him to grow and remain in his current district for the past 15 years. The work starts with the professional relationship between the Board and Superintendent and building and supporting a strong administrative team.
