Shavana Talbert, earned a double Bachelor of Arts in African and African American Studies and Human Biology from Stanford University. She returned to her home community of Fond du Lac, WI in 2017 to make an impact on the community in which she grew up. Shavana currently serves as District Equity Coach for the Fond du Lac School District. Shavana carries out her passion for diversity and inclusion through facilitating racial equity and racial literacy for the district at large and chairing the District Equity Leadership Team (DELT). In addition, her leadership extends to the local and state levels with involvement in the Equity Coaching Collaborative (ECC) in the Milwaukee area and the Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI) Coaching Collaborative where she provides feedback on the development of statewide equity coaching tools and competencies. Shavana is immersed in numerous other community organizations including Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Ebony Vision; Northeast Wisconsin Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts. Most recently she was named one of five 2018 Fond du Lac Future 5 Award Recipients.
