Repair Kit for Grading: 15 Fixes for Broken Grades
Are your current grading practices causing more problems than solutions? Do you find yourself stuck between tradition and the real needs of today’s learners? This series is designed to be the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
Based on A Repair Kit for Grading: 15 Fixes for Broken Grades, this interactive three-part workshop series will take you beyond surface-level changes and into the heart of what makes grading consistent, accurate, learning-focused, and meaningful.
We’ll begin with Ken O’Connor, “The Grade Doctor,” who will reveal why so many schools struggle with grading reform and how the CALM Grading framework (Consistent, Accurate, Learning-Focused, and Meaningful) provides the clarity and direction needed to move forward. Then, with Becky Peppler and Don Smith, you’ll dive into the 15 Fixes—practical, research-based solutions that directly address the barriers and frustrations educators face every day.
This isn’t just professional learning. It’s a roadmap to transform grading from one of your biggest stressors into one of your strongest levers for student success.
