The Spring SBG Conference brings together educators and leaders from across the country for a focused, energizing day dedicated to standards based learning and grading. Designed for anyone just beginning the work, actively implementing or refining existing practices, this conference creates space for clarity, honesty and forward momentum in assessment, grading and reporting.

The day opens with a keynote from Dr. Thomas Guskey, one of the most influential voices in grading and assessment. Through research grounded insights and real world examples, Dr. Guskey challenges long standing grading practices and invites participants to rethink what grades are meant to communicate and how they can better support learning.

Throughout the day, participants will choose from a wide range of extended breakout sessions that dive deeply into the practices that matter most, including learning targets and success indicators, assessment alignment and design, rubrics, feedback, PLC structures, coaching SBG, and supporting students with disabilities.

In addition to breakout sessions, the conference features two practitioner panels centered on real implementation. A teacher panel brings classroom voices to the forefront, sharing how standards based grading shows up in daily practice and how teachers navigate reassessment, gradebooks and conversations with students and families. A leader panel features administrators who are guiding grading change in their schools, with a focus on culture, communication, and sustainability. Both panels are interactive, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and learn directly from educators doing the work.
